Bio

Kaladon Stewart was named the Director of Compliance in the fall of 2017.

"Kal has been a valued employee of the department for many years," said Athletic Director Jim Wooldridge. "He has grown to be, truly, one of the experts in this field and industry. Because of that, our compliance program is – what I would consider – one of the best in the state. We are fortunate to be able to create the position and we are even more fortunate to have someone like Kal Stewart take on this responsibility for us."

Stewart has been a part of the athletic department for five years and has contributed to the department's success in many ways ranging from day-to-day department functions to long-term planning for athletics. His primary duties include handling student-athlete eligibility and compliance for all 18 varsity sports on campus.

"It feels better than good," explain Stewart in a gracious tone. "I am overwhelmed with a sense of joy and support from the coaches and staff."

Stewart has many plans to bolster an already strong compliance sector. He plans to implement tactics such as a "Coaches Corner". The sessions will involve structured workshops that directly relate to the California Community College Athletics Association (CCCAA) constitution and bylaws. It will include various scenarios that will assess the coaches level of knowledge when dealing with a current or prospective student-athlete.

It has come full-circle for Stewart as he continues to embark on a journey he has been traveling from some time now.

"From being a student at RCC and now a director – that is very surreal."

Stewart is currently attending the University of California – Riverside and earning his Master of Arts in Business Administration. He is set to earn his degree in the Spring of 2018.

Furthermore, Stewart was recently named Riverside City College's Employee of the Month for the month of December after his fantastic work for the athletic department.
